Who we are

Dalewood Homes is a locally owned and family-operated senior care facility, proudly rooted in the Baltimore community we serve. Named in honor of Dale Yoder—an incredible father, friend, and brother—our facility was founded as a heartfelt tribute to his legacy. During Dale’s courageous battle with cancer, his family was deeply moved by the compassion and dedication of the caregivers who supported him. Inspired by that experience, his daughter founded Dalewood Homes with a mission to provide that same exceptional level of care to other families.

The Yoder family comes from a small town where family means everything—and that deep-rooted sense of love, loyalty, and togetherness is at the heart of everything we do. That small-town spirit of caring for your neighbors and showing up for one another is what drives us to create a warm, welcoming environment where every resident is treated with the same respect and compassion we would want for our own loved ones.

In Dale’s final days, as his body could no longer keep up with his will, his daughter had the honor of tending to wounds and helping him to his feet after falls and administering his medications. During one of those quiet, sacred times, he looked at her and said, “This is natural for you, you should be an EMT.” That simple but powerful affirmation lit a fire in her heart. She took it a step further—not just caring for one, but building a place where many could receive the same kind of love and support her father did.

Though Dale was the proud father of 3 daughters, and had no sons to carry on his name, his legacy now lives on through Dalewood Homes. In every life touched, every hand held, and every act of care, his spirit continues. His daughter is committed to ensuring that he is never forgotten—and that his name will always stand for compassion, hard work, dignity, and the power of family.
